Artwork and musicians go hand and hand. Some good, some bad, but normally when an artist excels in one artistic outlet, they try another and another. Popular musician's artwork sells and the woek at Brooklyn Fire Proof is no different. With work by such artists as Devendra Banhart, and David Pajo, they are now, according to Secretly Canadian, going
to feature the work of one of my favorite musicians, Jason Molina (Songs:Ohia).
"The piece is called "ghost songs" featuring over 400 drawings, lyrics, collages, paintings, prints, photos, and found objects placed in 12 small boxes. The artist will be performing some of his audio art as well." - SC
Jason had this to say about his artwork, "My work is abstract, I don't sit and try to capture any specific scene or idea. On the road I love to draw on the little scraps of paper I find on the street... Somehow they all remind me at least of where I have been."
The show opens Friday November 18th. Doors open at 8pm and the cover is $6.
