Little Mountain Print Shoppe

Combining Art, Craftsmanship & Screen Printing to create top notch quality products.

Joe Horacek is Owner and Creative Director of Little Mountain Print Shoppe in Lincoln, NE.  His mission is to combine art, craftsmanship & screen printing to create top notch quality products. I came across his site when exploring the Sanborn Canoe Company website and this shirt in particular. In the notes for the item, it lists LMPS as the printer and provided a link to the site. Just one click and I fell in love with the artwork and design Horacek was using to create his own line of clothing.

For a few short years, I did the best I could to fully master the true art and craftsmanship that is the screen printing process. By using traditional tools, such as graphite, water color paints, charcoal, markers and various brush tip sizes, I created an organic and natural look that just looked and felt right to me. I’ve found that much can be achieved with a combination of simple illustration and solid typography, and learned to find the beauty in little imperfections.

As an artist myself, I love that Horacek creates all of his own designs. It's what makes these shirts unqiue. It's not just a cool shirt, but a way of celebrating his artistry. Often a sketch or drawing is displayed alongside the product. I think this adds so much. In my own work, I enjoy the process of creating the art actually more than the final piece and to see his artwork, from concept to completion, is a real treat.
