Atomic Blast Godzilla Review

NECA Godzilla - 2001 Atomic Blast Godzilla

I purchased this Atomic Blast Godzilla figure for my boys last week. They are obsessed with Godzilla, and rightfully so. NECA continues to produce some of the best Godzilla action figures on the market. I have the, now discontinued, 1985 Godzilla figure and was hoping for the same attention to detail in this one. They did not dissapoint. This figure is based on the 2001 film Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (trailer).

At $20+ for this figure, I was a little hesitant to make the purchase at first, but I'm so glad I did. It features over 30 points of articulation and stands 6 inches tall (12 inches from head to tail). It also features a very cool removable "Atomic Blast", a new paint deco scheme and an articulated tail.

Below are a few photos that I took at home to show the color and detail. You will notice that the blues on the figure are more neon or electric than the ones from the website. These are the true colors and the images below are unedited. I believe these photos provide a more accurate depiction of the figure and I actually prefer this blue to the darker shade.

If I had bought this for me, I'd have it on a shelf, but I didn't. I bought it for my boys. So I decided to ask them what their favorite features of this Godzilla where.

The removable "Atomic Blast" was hands down number one for both boys. They thought that was awesome. My eldest followed up with the "cool blue color" and detailed mouth. My youngest, referenced the "crazy eyes" and the "awesome spikes" on his back, to which he wanted to add missiles to for battle. Not a bad idea :)

The details and articulation of this figure are second to none at this price point and if you are a Godzilla fan I would highly recommend this figure
